Mussolini proudly claimed that the Italian army had eight million bayonets ready for use, but in reality, the standing Italian army was significantly smaller. Many soldiers were conscripted into a war they neither believed in nor understood. The quality of combat effectiveness varied greatly between units; many soldiers lacked proper equipment, transport, and even motivation. Nevertheless, there were several key battles in North Africa and on the Eastern Front where they performed well.

• Realistic Model: This model represents the Italian army with great detail and precision.
• Special Weapons: The standardized rifle was the Carcano Model 1891, used during World War I. A shortened version was introduced in 1941 (M91/41), and these weapons are represented in our new plastic collection.
• M38 Carbine: This weapon was intended to replace the M1891 and has a shorter barrel, making it more practical for infantry to carry and maneuver.
• M91/38 Cavalry Carbine: Typically issued with a fixed rear sight (set at 200 meters) and a folding bayonet for increased functionality.
• Beretta M38: The excellent 9mm Beretta M38 was the standardized submachine gun used by Italian troops.
• Breda Model 1930: The Italian light machine gun had a slow rate of fire and used the same small-caliber ammunition as the unit's weapons, leading to problems with frequent jamming and breakage.
