Six strangers are called to Striving, an expansive megapolis city on Aballon, the planet of machines. There, they gather in a neon-lit café, surrounded by androids and robots, to meet an old friend. The bartender serves them refreshments – and a holographic recording from their mutual acquaintance.

"Hello, friends! If you're seeing this, it's because I've experienced an unexpected shutdown – in organic terms, I'm dead." The discovery of their friend's unexpected murder transforms these strangers into an unlikely team of investigators. To find the killer, they must outwit murderous robots, overcome tricky enemies, and analyze confusing clues – all while wondering if they are hunting the killer, or if the killer is hunting them! The streets of Striving can be an unforgiving place, and the investigators will need all their skills, resources – and a bit of luck – to successfully solve the murder, find the killers' hideout, and bring them to justice!
