This is the sequel to the successful Zombicide: Black Plague, and takes players back to a world of deadly medieval fantasy, this time filled with infected orcs and goblins that will put survivors to the test. The green plague is not only stronger than their human counterparts, but they also tend to gather in massive hordes that surprise survivors when they least expect it. They were a brave people who lived on the edge of the orc lands, on the western frontier. It was a tough area, where nature grows wild and the weather can change in an instant. They fought against the brutal orcs many times, and resisted raids on their villages and fields. Never, during all these battles, did they consider leaving for safer regions of the world. This was their land, the land of their ancestors. Generations had grown up in its green forests and fields, taking what the earth gave them and defending what was theirs.

But the orcs were merciless and grew ever bolder as time went on. When the plague struck, it wasn't long before the orcs became infected. All it took was one bite, and the disease spread through their ranks like wildfire. What the plague took from the orcs in intelligence, agency, and personality, it replaced with a singular goal: to destroy the living and feast on their flesh. The orcs now gather, a pack, a horde. They travel across the countryside, attacking villages they come across, but now it's not enough to steal some crops or a cow or two. They won't be satisfied until the villagers are dead… or perhaps worse, undead.

A new challenge for survivors is the horde. It represents a growing group of orc zombies ready to appear on the game board in an unexpected place and surprise survivors. When zombie cards with the Horde symbol are drawn, an extra zombie miniature of the same type is set aside, forming the horde. They will be locked in place until an "Enter the Horde!" card is drawn, spawning the horde on the game board. Any survivors caught alone near this wandering plague had best make a swift retreat.

With such menacing new enemies, the survivors will have their hands full dealing with the green horde. Fortunately, they have some fantastic new weapons and spells on their side to help fight off the rotting masses. Things like the Lava Burst, Norse Sword, and Bone Kukri will all come in handy when hacking through a pack of the dead. Oh, and should they gather too close, survivors can always strike with the catapult... (didn't we mention the catapult?).

Zombicide: Green Horde includes ten new challenging missions, featuring some of the toughest scenarios a survivor has ever had to face. With new terrain, such as cliffs and waterholes, and the ever-present threat of the green horde making an appearance, the team must plan their routes carefully. Sometimes it's better to avoid trouble than to face it.
