Butterfly Garden, formerly known as Indigo, is a captivating game for the whole family where players build paths piece by piece. Unlike other games such as Metro and Tsuro, the goal is to transport butterflies from their starting positions to your chosen flower beds. The player who collects the most points wins the game.

Butterfly Garden - Game Overview

To set up the game board, follow these steps:

• Place the central fountain tile in the middle.
• Place five pink butterfly figures and one purple butterfly figure on the fountain tile.
• Place six fountain tiles in their designated spots on the outer edge of the board.
• Place one blue butterfly figure on each fountain tile.
• Each player places their player tokens on the flower beds between the butterfly tiles on the edge of the board.

During a turn, the player may place a path tile in any available spot on the game board, with the restriction that no routes can be created directly between two flower beds. Players always have two path tiles available. Each path tile has three route segments connecting a pair of edges.

Gameplay Mechanics and Scoring System

• When a path tile is placed next to a butterfly, the butterfly flies as far as possible along the path, showing the way for the next move.
• The pink butterfly moves first when connected to the central fountain, followed by the purple butterfly on the sixth connection.
• If one butterfly flies into another, both butterflies are removed from the game.

When a butterfly reaches a flower bed owned by only one player, that player keeps the butterfly. If two players own the flower bed, both players receive a butterfly of that color, taking the necessary butterfly from the reserve.

The game ends when all butterflies have been collected. The scoring system is as follows:

• 3 points for a purple butterfly
• 2 points for a pink butterfly
• 1 point for a blue butterfly

The player with the most points wins the game!
